Industrial odor is an environmental matter that is legally required to be managed in Türkiye and the EU. Facilities that do not actively manage odor risk complaints, mandatory remediation and administrative fines. Key Turkish regulations:
- Environmental Law No. 2872 — the core framework; administrative sanctions for violations.
- Regulation on the Control of Odor-Causing Emissions (2013) — olfactometric measurement; remediation & sanctions if limits are exceeded.
- Regulation on Control of Industrial Air Pollution (2009) — Emission Permit.
