“I just washed the blanket, but the moment I lie down on it, that smell is there again.”
The blanket comes out of the machine smelling great, and two days later the dog, the cigarettes or the closet are back. The reason is plain: detergent lifts the dirt and its perfume covers the odor. The odor molecules lodged between the fibers stay where they are. Once the perfume fades, you smell them again.

How do you get dog odor out of a blanket?
A blanket the dog has claimed starts to smell like the dog in no time. Skin oils and hair work their way into the fabric.
- Remove the hair. A lint roller or a damp rubber glove is enough.

Does cat urine odor come out of a blanket?
It does, but don't start with hot water. Hot water can drive the odor deeper into the fabric.
- If the spot is wet, blot it with a dry cloth. Don't rub.
- Spray the stain and the area around it with Pet Spray and let it dry. If the odor is still there, spray once more.
- Wash in cool or lukewarm water.

Can a blanket with cigarette odor be saved without washing?
With a light odor, yes. Hang the blanket outdoors for an hour or two. Then spray both sides with ODORGO Odor Eliminator Spray 250 ml and let it dry. If the odor is heavy, repeat and then wash.

Why does a blanket from the closet smell musty?
Most of the time because it was put away before it was fully dry. Moisture stays in the fabric, and in a closed closet the odor grows.
- Hang the blanket somewhere sunny and airy so the moisture can leave.
- Spray the whole surface and let it dry.
- Wash it, and this time make sure it is fully dry before you store it.
- Put a gel on the closet shelf, where it can stand flat. The gel is used for up to 30 days in enclosed areas of up to 15 m².

What do you add to the washing machine?

The spray is water-based; you can use it on any surface that water does not harm. On water-sensitive fabrics and surfaces (unfinished or untreated wood, silk, leather, electronics, etc.), test on a small hidden area first.
