Controlling odor at the source, without masking it
ODORGO is a plant-based system that deals with a business center's odor load at the molecular level, from the open-plan floor to the break room and the restrooms. No perfume is added to the room; the odor molecule is attracted, bound and neutralized.
When the air carries no odor, the office is perceived as fresher, and that directly supports employee comfort. The product can be applied while staff are working inside.
- Built on plant-derived oils
- No chemical oxidants
- Can be applied while staff are working

Where does odor come from in an office?
Office odor does not come from a single point, and most of the time it is described not as a "bad smell" but as stuffiness. Most of the load is organic; it binds to carpet, acoustic panels, chair fabric and still air. Surface cleaning does not break that bond: the surface gets cleaned, the odor stays.
| Area | Dominant odor character | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Restrooms | Organic waste, dried-out drain traps, moisture | The area where complaints arrive fastest and loudest |
| Eating in the office | Lunch, reheated food, spices | The smell of food eaten at a desk or in the kitchen spreads into the open office and settles into textiles |
| Break room / kitchen | Frying, coffee grounds, sink drain trap | The microwave and the refrigerator are the most frequent sources of complaints |
| Trash and recycling points | Organic decay, souring | Open bins and late emptying multiply the load |
| Open office / textiles | Accumulated background odor, sweat, a mix of perfumes | Carpet and acoustic panels hold odor and release it back |
| Meeting rooms | Many people in a closed volume | Air that turns heavy after a long meeting |
| Shower / locker area | Sweat, damp textiles | In offices with an in-house fitness area |
| Parking garage connection / elevator lobby | Exhaust, dampness | At entrances connected to the basement |
Restrooms: the most complaints, the fastest result
In offices, restrooms are the center of odor complaints, and those complaints come mostly from employees who sit close to the restroom. Every time the door opens, odor is carried into the open office; the desks in that zone face this load all day. Changing the seating plan is usually not possible. The solution is to deal with the odor at its source.
ODORGO gel placed in the restrooms sets up a silent background layer that needs no electricity; it works without interruption and causes no problem while staff are inside. This layer noticeably reduces the odor load carried out when the door opens and lowers the complaints of employees who sit close to the restroom.
When ODORGO PRO 500 ml is used in routine cleaning, the cleaning does not stop at the surface: the odor molecules in the room's air are dealt with during application too. That way every cleaning round becomes an odor removal round as well.
Why is ventilation not enough on its own?
Ventilation moves the air; it does not remove the odor molecule. Moving the air falls short in three situations.
Recirculation
Most office heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems return part of the air. Even when the fresh air flow rate is sufficient, the returned air feeds the odor molecule back into the system.
Density
As the volume per person drops, which is typical of open offices and meeting rooms, odor generation exceeds the level the design flow rate assumed.
Adsorbed load
Carpet, curtains, acoustic panels and chair fabric hold odor molecules all day; they release them back into the room when the system shuts down and through the weekend.
The closed-in smell noticed on Monday morning is largely this. Upgrading ventilation is a sound investment, but it does not bring the background odor down to zero. ODORGO separates these two layers and targets the remaining load.
What happens at the molecular level?
ODORGO is diluted with water and atomized into the room as a fine mist, or it evaporates passively in gel form. The plant oils attract, bind and neutralize the odor molecule through the electrostatic charge on the water droplet and an acid-base reaction.
| # | Stage | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Solubility | The odor molecule dissolves in the droplet |
| 2 | Adsorption | Molecules attach to the surface of the droplet |
| 3 | Absorption | The molecule passes into the droplet and is trapped |
| 4 | Partitioning | The molecule's tendency to stay in the liquid increases, and its escape into the air is prevented |
| 5 | Reaction | Non-volatile products form through oxidation/reduction and complex formation |
Performance data. Results from industrial work, measured in a closed test chamber at an independent laboratory: 97%+ on contact for sulfur dioxide and mercaptan gases, and up to 98% removal in general odor elimination performance. These rates show the reduction in odor molecule concentration. The odor load in an office is far lower than at industrial sites; field results vary with odor composition, application efficiency and air flow rate.
The technology has been in use in the USA and in EU countries for 35+ years.
A three-layer layout
No single product covers the whole load. Odor shows up in two characters: the background odor that is always there and the event-driven peak odor; the right setup handles the two separately.
Gel and spray are used while the office is occupied. The gel sets up the continuous layer, and the spray gives fast support for heavy, sudden odors; both are applied without any problem while staff are inside. Device application is left for after hours. The reason is not the product but the noise of the device: the device runs on compressed air and produces a blowing sound. In an open office that sound interrupts work, so the device is switched on once the space has emptied.
| Layer | Role and method | Typical placement in an office | While the office is occupied? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Background | A continuous, silent layer that needs no electricity: gel | Restrooms, break room, trash points, open office corners, elevator lobby | Yes |
| Peak | Fast response to sudden, intense odor: spray, and ODORGO PRO 500 ml in routine cleaning | After meals, after a meeting room is used, after the trash is emptied, on the restroom cleaning round | Yes |
| Deep | Resetting the load bound to textiles and porous surfaces: device | A section that has drawn complaints, a floor that stayed closed for a long time, a space after renovation or a move | No. After hours, because of the noise |
DECON DUO: the numbers and when to use it
It is a mobile odor neutralization generator; a maximum air flow of 450 m³/hour carries the aerosol into corners and textiles. The stainless steel body weighs 20 kg and measures 870 × 460 × 300 mm; it fits on a service cart and in an elevator. Run time can be set up to 30 minutes in 1-minute steps. For small volumes and field trials there is the DECON MINI, designed for 100 m³.
Why after hours?
The device runs on compressed air, which means a distinct blowing sound (about 75 decibels (dB)). In an open office, a meeting room or an area where people work on the phone, that sound is disturbing. This is purely a matter of comfort and acoustics. The application is also coordinated with the facility's fire detection procedure.
The device does not go into every area. It is applied in the volumes that facility management or the cleaning supervisor has flagged as "high odor load": a section that has drawn complaints, a floor that stayed closed for a long time, a space after renovation or a move. In areas that are not flagged, the gel and spray layer is enough.
The ideal point
The right dose is the balance where neither the bad odor nor the product's own scent is noticed. An office is one of the environments with the highest sensitivity to smell: the volume per person is low, and the same people breathe the same air all day. For that reason the dose starts noticeably lower than at industrial sites and is fine-tuned with a field test.
What odor means for the office
Employee feedback
In internal satisfaction surveys, stuffiness and odor are items that keep recurring and get escalated to management when they are not fixed. Teams that sit close to the restroom are the first source of this complaint.
Visitor and candidate perception
A client arriving for a meeting and a candidate arriving for a job interview read the facility's maintenance quality from the air in the first 30 seconds.
Leasability
In multi-tenant business centers, common area odor becomes a bargaining item in tenant renewal talks.
Management workload
A recurring complaint creates a service ticket on the facility management side that never closes. Managing odor before it appears means never entering that loop.
Composition profile and Safety Data Sheet data
Our statements rest not on marketing sentences but on the Turkish Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in the format of KKDİK, Turkey's regulation on the registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of chemicals.
Classification
In the SDS the mixture is not classified as hazardous; the label carries no hazard (H) statement. The single substance declared in the composition is d-limonene; its share is below 0.3% by weight, and the general concentration limit that triggers classification is 1%.
Transport and physical properties
It does not fall under dangerous goods rules for transport (ADR, the European agreement on the international carriage of dangerous goods by road). It is not flammable; it is water-based. The pH measured in the SDS is 5–8.
Free-from reports
An independent accredited (TÜRKAK) laboratory has reported that it contains no perfume, phthalates, parabens, dyes, sulfates or alcohol. It is certified vegan.
International compliance
The plant-derived components in the formula are listed in the major chemical inventories: USA (TSCA), Europe (EINECS), Canada (DSL), Australia (AICS), Japan (ENCS) and Korea (ECL).
Documents supplied on request: the KKDİK-compliant Turkish Safety Data Sheet the TÜRKAK-accredited "free-from" analysis reports and the vegan certificate.
Where is the difference?
| Method | Where it is strong | Its limit |
|---|---|---|
| Scent machine / perfume diffuser | Creating a brand scent | Covers the odor, does not remove it; when the effect wears off the odor comes back and mixes with the existing scent |
| Ozone generator | Closed, controlled small volume | Because ozone forms in the room, there are restrictions on use in occupied areas; it also wears down materials |
| Activated carbon filter | In-duct gas stream at a constant flow rate | Replacement cost after saturation; performance drops with moisture and a variable load |
| Ventilation upgrade | Fresh air flow rate | Structural and costly; does not bring adsorbed background odor down to zero |
| ODORGO | Background and peak odor, load bound to textiles, can be applied while the office is occupied | Requires correct dosing and product selection |
Spaces that follow a similar setup
The office setup is planned with the same three-layer logic for flexible workspaces (coworking), call centers, office tower common areas and elevator lobbies, showrooms and sales offices.
